God damn Tiger’s Curse or Throne of Glass. I’m going to have to do entries on both of them. I’m will, I really will… I just think it’s going to be very long. I got about halfway through each one, or so. I’ll have to actually look at the books to find out.
- A Popular Book or series that everyone else seems to hate but you love.
Okay… I’m gonna say it. Twilight. Not the Twilight Saga. Just Twilight. I think that there are merits to New Moon: it explains more of the lore, introduces the Volturi, and I think it’s a very accurate and well done depiction of depression. Eclipse… starts the downward trend. It’s why I will rant for hours about how Jacob is a misogynist Nice Guy piece of shit. He went from a cute sweetie pie to sexually assaulting Bella because he felt entitled to her. BD? Never heard of her.
…. This was supposed to be about books I like. But I like Twilight. That was the point.
- A Love Triangle where the main character ended up with the person you did NOT want them to end up with (warn ppl for spoilers) OR an OTP that you don’t like.
Rose/Dimitri. This is going to be a TLC soon. Link here if it already is one. I just… I am going to scream, be sick, or both. It’s disgusting.
- A popular book Genre that you hardly reach for.
Dystopia. God. I hate dystopia. 9/10 authors can’t do it right. They really only half-ass the actual worldbuilding and stick with a whole “what if” scenario.
What if: Love was…. Illegal??? Bitch it is. So what’s your point?
What if: We were divided by gender?? Ok, to be fair, I haven’t read this book but it seems inherently sexist and transphobic. …guess what’s probably on my list.
What if: People were divided by specific personality traits? A trite series that goes on too long and has the worst ending of any series I’ve ever heard of.
What if: I don’t know, insert whatever the fuck Maze Runner is supposed to be. I’ve read in-depth breakdowns of the plot and I still have no idea what the fuck is supposed to be going on.
- A popular or beloved character that you do not like.
Jacob from Twilight. There are people who genuinely like him and Jesus… it makes me sick. He literally sexually assaults Bella, and then fucking falls in love with her infant daughter.
- A popular author that you can’t seem to get into.
Colleen Houck… you racist motherfucker.
- A popular book trope that you’re tired of seeing. (examples “lost princess”, corrupt ruler, love triangles, etc.)
Honestly, the pointless love triangle or the girl that everyone wants. I’m looking at you Handbook for Mortals and fucking House of Night series. I mean, come on. Why does she get a new love interest in every book? Why did it go from a triangle, to a quadrangle, then have sex with a pedophile, then a quintangle, then…
No. I’m not addressing that. I’ll get to this series eventually.
It’s a DNF. I stopped reading after the all-powerful god fell in love with her.
Oh… and let’s just add this for good measure. The fucking rampant pedophilia in the YA genre as a whole.

And the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. I’ve read an article about how the first book is literally some racist bullshit and I am too tired to deal with that.
- The saying goes “The book is always better than the movie”, but what movie or T.V. show adaptation do you prefer more than the book?
I’m definitely stretching for this one. I’ve never… actually read either one of these. But, Jaws and Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Because I’ve never read them I can’t personally compare, but here are links to the two videos that informed my opinion.
